Who is Uniquia Manigault? Uniquia is Founder/CEO of I Am Uniquia Co LLC and author, professional actress, model, poet, host, entertainer, comedian, beauty advisor and fashion show presenter. She's also the founder of Black Girl Beauty Performing Arts School. At her school she's a coach for acting, modeling, poetry and hair braiding for youth ages 5 - 18. She also teaches adult model aerobics. Uniquia holds a BA in Theatre Arts from Clark Atlanta University and she's passionate about training women and children.
If someone is interested in Modeling, Acting, Poetry or Hair Braiding what should they do?
Most people who come to BGB Performing Arts School are not sure if they are interested in pursuing modeling, acting, poetry or hair braiding. They want to learn and experience all and decide which suits them best. The BGB Performing Arts School' programs help them determine which workshop suits their needs and personality, while communicating the skills of all.
Does a person have to look like a Model or Actress to become one? 10 years ago maybe... The though so-called ”Supermodels” and "Professional Actors/Actresses" shared a certain look or body type, the truth is this is 2021 and we're in a "new era" of entertainment. There are thousands of highly successful models, actors, actress and poets of all shapes and sizes, around the world. That's because the modeling field offers a surprisingly wide range of part-time options. In short, there is more to modeling - and the modeling business - than you see in the top fashion magazines.
Who are your students?
Our students are here to explore the world of modeling, acting, poetry and hair braiding while others take our programs to improve their personal image, gain self-confidence, improve their leadership skills and/or learn entrepreneurship to help them succeed in other aspects of their lives.
Do you work with kids?
Absolutely! Our programs begin at an early age of five years old and introduce young people to the industry in a way that they can easily understand. Our instructors, who work with younger children, tailor their classroom materials to be age-appropriate. We offer live in class sessions if you're in the Atlanta area and we also offer virtual workshops.
What is the time commitment?
The programs generally meet once per week, for 2 hours, in the evening. We have virtual classes that our students can take in the morning or evening from the comfort of their own home. If you are attending school or work, you can take a program that fits your schedule.
Auditions or castings can take place at different times, generally on Thursday evening at 8pm LIVE on "Uniquia Manigault TV ~ Chitter Chatter Talk Show," although some may take place at the BGB Performing Arts School in the evenings.
If you are attending middle school, high school or college, your education must be your first priority. You are expected to maintain your grades at an acceptable level to continue Your BGB Performing Arts development. Having the best education possible is the key to success.
Do you accept everyone?
The answer is ”no”. In order to be accepted, all prospective talent must meet certain requirements. This includes a personal "LIVE" interview to determine if you possess the qualities that the BGB Performing Arts School is seeking, and to determine if you can benefit from the BGB Performing Arts School programs. Your level of commitment is a direct reflection on us; thus, we strive to accept only the most promising talent.

I've heard about ”Specialty Modeling.” What is that?
Specialty modeling is generally defined as ”petite” modeling, ”plus-size” modeling, ”fit” modeling and ”parts” modeling. This category of modeling is available to talent of all sizes and shapes.
How many students do you take per semester?
We take 25 students per semester in our live youth sessions.
We take 50 students per semester in our live adult sessions.
We take 50 students per semester in our virtual sessions.
How long is your program?
12 weeks Full Program (Two 6-week semesters) We operate in the Spring and Fall.
4 weeks Workshop Showcases. We operate Fall, Winter and Summer.
What ages do you accept into your program?
Youth: Ages 5-8 (Modeling Only)
Youth: Ages 9 to 17
Adult: Ages 18 and up
Do you offer online courses?
